On 13 October, during the working visit, State Minister of Georgia on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Victor Dolidze held meetings in Belgrade with the Minister of European Integration of the Republic of Serbia, Jadranka Joksimović and the Republic of Serbia's Chief Negotiator to the EU, Tanja Miščević. Sides exchanged information about the processes of Georgian and Serbian integration into EU.
“It is very important that Georgian side is interested in the integration process and main achievements of Serbia as EU candidate country. It is essential to exchange experience in order to bring our countries closer to Europe.” – stated the Minister of European Integration of the Republic of Serbia, Jadranka Joksimović on the meeting with Victor Dolidze. Jadranka Joksimović discussed all challenges and difficulties for Serbia on the way to EU candidacy. Moreover, Ms. Joksimović shared information with State Minister about the process of approximation with EU in law and practice. Sides underlined the importance of Strategic Communications and Public Awareness. After the meeting, Jadranka Joksimović and Victor Dolidze held press-conference with local media. The Minister of European Integration of the Republic of Serbia confirmed Serbia’s strong support to Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. In addition, Ms. Joksimović expressed readiness to assist Georgia in the process of European integration.
On the meeting with Tanja Miščević, Serbian side expressed full readiness to support Georgia technically and in terms of expertise. Furthermore, Serbian officials would like to use Georgia's experience in fighting corruption. Additionally, sides agreed on further cooperation.
